The Orange/Apple Wake-Me-Up // The most delicious way to start your day. Or enjoy mid-day, or at the end of the day! Anytime you want this splendid citrus juice, you'll be sure to feel a little extra energy! | Tried and TastyIt’s day TEN of our juice fast and now that we are in the double digits, I feel like I can say that time is flying! Week one seemed like it would never end. The hardest day so far was day six. I had forgotten from the last time we did this not only how challenging this can be physically, but also emotionally. Our emotions are tied so closely to food it’s hard to understand just how much so until you go without it. Not only that, but this is such a huge undertaking I don’t think any amount of preparation can prepare you for the mental struggle. Thankfully, it was just one day – and then the next day was a brighter day!

This Orange/Apple Wake-Me-Up (as I like to call it) is the smoothest most delicious fruity juice. Orange can be the base of anything and it will turn out wonderful. I love the citrus fruits and with the addition of lemon and lime, this really will awaken your senses. When I drink fresh squeezed fruit juice I feel alive! There’s just something about fresh vs. store bought. And actually, we hardly ever buy store bought fruit juice. If we do, it’s the organic apple cider to add to our green smoothies. This Wake-Me-Up was the perfect way to help get the Dr. Shulze’s Superfood Plus down (yuck!). For those that aren’t detoxing, you’ll LOVE this juice perfectly wonderful all on it’s own!

Last week we cleansed our colon. This week we are on to cleansing our kidneys. Each week brings a new set of Dr. Schulze’s Detox herbal supplements, herbal teas, and herbal tinctures. For the most part, week two is pretty mild. Here’s the run down of what each day of week 2 looks like:

7:45 AM: Dr. Shulze’s Kidney Flush Drink (my Lemonade Cleanse drink)
8:30 AM: Dr. Schulze’s Kidney Tea and Echinacea Plus tincture
9:30 AM: Dr. Schulze’s Superfood Plus
12:30 AM: Dr. Schulze’s Kidney Tea and Echinacea Plus Tincture
2:00 PM: Dr. Schulze’sSuperfood’s Plus
4:30 PM: Dr. Schulze’s Kidney Tea and Echinacea Plus tincture
6:00 PM: Dr. Schulze’sSuperfood’s Plus

It’s not too bad. The tea is tolerable, the tincture is pretty gnarly. I like to have a chaser of fruit juice, vegetable juice, or if I don’t have either of those handy: water. We’ll continue this routine until Thursday. Then Friday begins the liver cleanse.

  • 2 apples red or green
  • 1 lemon juiced separately with a citrus juicer
  • 1 lime juiced separately with a citrus juicer

  1. Juice oranges & apples. Add lemon & lime.
