It’s day 24.. and let me just tell you, this cleanse is kicking my butt. I’m going to just jump out there and say twice within a two year period is too often to complete a 30 day detox program. More on that later. One of the juices we fell in love with during the juice fast was this Sippable Orange Sunshine! It truly is like sipping on sunshine. Not only that, isn’t it the most beautiful orange color?? A whole slew of your favorite fruits (and a vegetable) get thrown together for this delicious concoction!
So, back to the struggles of the cleanse. It’s finally week four. I never thought I’d see the end. As healthy as the detox is for you, I will warn you, it’s incredibly challenging. At the conclusion of the 30 days I’ll wrap up in a post giving you all the nitty gritty details. The past week of raw food has been {mostly} successful. Our favorite recipes we’ve made are Classic Cashew Cheese (we’ve made it three or four times in the last week), Raw Lasagna (we’ve also had this almost daily), Corn Chips & Guacamole, Raweos (think Oreos, only raw and 1000 times healthier!), and these Oat & Cashew Thumbprint Cookies with Berry Chia Jam! A couple of my not-so-favorites were the Cauliflower Rice with Fresh Peas & Cumin and this Raw Chili. Overall I really do enjoy raw food. It’s an art and requires prep usually a day ahead, but it’s really quite delicious!
While we were juice fasting I almost got to the point that I had a hard time getting juice down. When it’s all you have for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks…it gets to be a little much. Throwing in a fruit juice here and there really does add a little sunshine to your spirit. I think until you’ve juice fasted for longer than a few days, you may not understand. But really, this yummy combination will bring a smile to your face and sunshine to your soul!
