I’m sharing #SausageFamily in my life as part of a Johnsonville sponsored series for Socialstars™
Did you see my post a couple of weeks ago for my Sweet Potato & Sausage Breakfast Hash? I decided to use the Johnsonville Breakfast Patties this time around and create this Sausage In A Hole Toast! I’ve seen egg in a hole but I hadn’t yet seen sausage in a hole (granted I didn’t look too terribly far) so I figured it would be fun to whip up. This recipe is only five ingredients – and that’s including the optional maple syrup! That’s it. Talk about simple, does it get any better than that? The great thing about the patties is that they are ready in 30 seconds, the big, bold flavors of Johnsonville without the fuss. Can I get a holla?
So tell me. What are you grabbing on your way out of the house in your rushed busy mornings? Oh. Your mornings aren’t rushed and busy like mine? I’ll be the first to tell you with two full time jobs I am certainly running almost every.single.morning. out the door hoping there’s *something* that I can snatch on my way hoping it will fill me until either my afternoon snack or lunch. When I find recipes that have five ingredients or less that are great breakfast options I hold on to them like your child held on to their Easter candy last weekend. For dear life. So hopefully you’ll give this quick & easy (plus delicious) recipe a try. I loved it and hope you will too!
Sausage In A Hole Toast

With a circle cookie or biscuit cutter, press a hole in the center of your bread.
-
Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-low heat.

Butter your bread or melt a tbsp. of butter in it. When the butter is all spread out, place the piece of bread in the skillet or on the griddle and place a Johnsonville Breakfast Patty in the center.

That is quite genius…even my husband will be able to prepare it. A true home fast food blockbuster :)
Yvonne
Thank you – hope you’ll give it a try, it’s delicious!
Looks great! Do you know how many calories does it have?
Yvonne
It’s going to depend on the bread you use and of course how much butter, but the sausages have 110 calories for two of them – so I’d say you’re looking less than 350 for two pieces of toast with sausage.

Oh, what a wonderful idea :)
My kids are sick from the regular sandwich’s, that I made them. So that will help me a lot.
Thank you!
Yvonne
Yes, kids would be all over this. So happy you like the idea and hope you make it for your family – you’re welcome!

I always make “Hole in One” with eggs, but never thought to make it with sausage. Sounds wonderful as I love sausage. Thanks.
Yvonne
Isn’t it a fun change with the sausage? I thought it was a nice way to switch things up!
Nice :) I’ll try with sausage AND egg in one toast :)
Yvonne
I LOVE that idea!!!! What didn’t I think of that? Off to make more toast….
