Boy oh boy are you in for a fabulous recipe today! When I first saw that combination of apple pie filling and cinnamon rolls I just wasn’t sure. As I was whipping this recipe up, I decided I was more than sure – this combination is GENIUS! I’m back with another great Rhodes Bake N Serve recipe that I’m sharing on the Rhodes blog and trust me when I tell you that you do not want to miss it. I made this a few weeks ago and I can still smell the delicious apple cinnamon air wafting under my nose. I could hardly wait for it to bake up. It was tantalizing me so!
This would be perfect this holiday season to serve at a breakfast, brunch, potluck or even dessert (of course). Basically it would be wonderful any time of the day!
Apple Streusel Breakfast Bake
- 12 Rhodes Cinnamon Rolls, thawed but still cold
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 3 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 can apple pie filling
- cream cheese frosting (included with rolls)
- Cut each cinnamon roll into 8 pieces and arrange evenly in a sprayed 9x13 inch baking dish. Whisk together eggs, cream, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla. Pour over rolls, coating each piece. Spread apple pie filling evenly over the roll pieces.
- Combine streusel topping ingredients and sprinkle over apple pie filling. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise for 1 hour. Remove wrap and bake at 350°F 45-60 minutes. Cover with foil last 15 minutes if necessary to prevent over browning. Remove from oven and drizzle with frosting.
