Ingredients

  • 3 celery ribs diced
  • 1 large onion diced
  • 1 large clove garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 2 tbsp. whole wheat flour
  • 2 c. whole milk
  • 1 c. heavy cream
  • 2 c. Boar’s Head SmokeMaster™ Black Forest Ham diced
  • 2 large russet potatoes peeled and cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 14 3/4 ounce can cream-style corn
  • 1 1/2 c. frozen corn
  • 6 scallions chopped
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. dried thyme
  • 1/4 tsp. dried oregano
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper

Instructions

  1. Boil water; meanwhile peel and dice potatoes. Boil for about 10-15 minutes.   

  2. Meanwhile, dice up ham, onion, celery. 

  3. In a large saucepan, saute the onion and celery in butter until softened. Stir in the flour and stir until well blended, then gradually add milk and cream.

  4. Bring to a boil while stirring until thickened, about 2 minutes.

  5. Stir in remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. 

  6. Reduce heat, cover and simmer about 15 minutes or until heated through.
