Peanut Butter Bars

Remember the yummy peanut butter bars you used to get as a kid at school? These taste just like those! They are so peanut buttery delicious!

  • 3/4 c. margarine soft
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. brown Sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 3/4 tsp baking soda
  • 3/4 c. peanut butter
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 3 c. quick oats
  • 1 16 oz. container chocolate frosting
  • Enough peanut butter for thin layer on cooled bars


  1. Preheat oven to 375 F.

  2. Mix all ingredients together in medium sized mixing bowl until creamy. Spread mixture onto a greased cookie sheet.

  3. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown.

  4. Let cool, then spread a layer of peanut butter over cookie. Repeat with chocolate frosting. Slice into bars.

Recipe Notes

[My 2 Cents]
To prevent cookie from crumbling, make sure they are completely cooled before frosting. Usually bars taste better the 2nd day.
