Oh how I love sandwiches. Love them so very much. I also love my local grocery store that was ever so patient with me as I requested to have a gazillion meats and cheeses sliced for my idea of the perfect deli sandwich! Start with sourdough and then layer by layer watch a masterpiece unfold before your very eyes! But wait. There’s a secret ingredient. Want to know what it is? French’s® Spicy Brown Mustard! No really. I am telling you that this sandwich will not taste the same if you forget it. It offers a zing and a kick that rounds out all of the meats and cheeses so well.

Although French’s® is known for its iconic Classic Yellow mustard, they also offer a deliciously bold tasting Spicy Brown mustard AND a smooth & creamy Dijon.  I really enjoy classic yellow mustard, but I LOVE Spicy Brown, and I have yet to discover a sandwich, hoagie, wrap, burger, hot dog, bratwurst, or even salad dressing that isn’t instantly taken up a notch by introducing a bit of French’s® Spicy Brown Mustard into the equation. I found that the mustard introduces just the right amount of complexity and kick to your meal,  taking it from ordinary to incredible, and yet it’s not overpowering. It really is a must have staple for summer BBQ season.

I was equally impressed by French’s® Dijon mustard, and think that it does a great job of classing up virtually any sandwich, while playing nicely with and complimenting such a wide array of flavors.

As much as I love bread (toasted sourdough in particular), I’ve found that the wrong “bread to fillings ratio” can make a sandwich taste bland or dry – but with the mayonnaise and French’s mustard provided in this recipe, you’re sure to achieve the perfect balance between crunchy and juicy. You’ll be surprised at how such a large sandwich can disappear so quickly – I know I was!
