Ker and I made this together for Steve and John, it was so much fun experimenting in the kitchen. First off, my can of evaporated milk expired about a year ago. Didn’t figure that out until I had tried to open the can for about 10 minutes (my can opener wasn’t cooperating!). So we googled alternatives for evaporated milk and didn’t have anything they suggested (buttermilk? cream?) so we came up with our own: two parts whipping cream and one part milk. It actually worked pretty good. We added almost an entire bag of marshmallows instead of the 30 that the recipe calls for – 30 isn’t very many marshmallows! The graham cracker really made this recipe. When we were all done altering it and adding to it, it turned out great!
S'Mores Fondue
If you like s'mores, then you will love this S'Mores Fondue. It's everything about s'mores in melted chocolate form and more delicious than you could even imagine!
Ingredients
- 1/2 c. evaporated milk
- 30 mini marshmallows
- 3/4 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2/3 c. graham cracker crumbs
- 25 regular-sized marshmallows or as needed for dipping
Instructions
-
Combine the evaporated milk and mini marshmallows in a metal bowl and place on top of a sauce pan half- filled with simmering water. Stir frequently on low heat, making sure the mixture doesn't come to a boil.
-
When the marshmallows are melted, add the chocolate chips. Melt the chocolate on low to medium-low heat, stirring frequently and continuing to make sure the mixture doesn't boil.
-
When the chocolate is melted, stir in the graham cracker crumbs.
-
Transfer the fondue mixture to the fondue pot and set on the burner. Keep the fondue warm on low heat. Serve with the marshmallows for dipping.
