I know what you are probably thinking. Who needs a recipe for water? Chances are you don’t get your recommended daily intake. Am I right? Did you know you are supposed to drink at least half your body weight in water each day? When I participated in the Game On Health Challenge I drank 100 oz. daily. That’s a lot! No crystal light. No flavored sugar/energy packets. Straight water. Kick that nasty soda habit (including diet) to the curb once and for all and enjoy this instead. But seriously, your life depends on it. While you are looking for great alternatives to help you reach your goals, I highly recommend my Lemonade Cleanse as a great option as well.
I’ll be the first to admit that just plain can be a bit boring. However, if you add in a few fresh, natural ingredients it can be a whole heck of a lot easier to gulp down. What I love about this ‘recipe’ is that there is no added sugar and the ingredients are 100% natural! There are a crazy amount of benefits to drinking H2O – so if you can’t get it down plain, I highly suggest this Minty Lime Water! Even if you CAN and DO drink your daily recommendation, this is still an excellent way to switch things up that is both tasty and refreshing. What other substance helps keep you alive, rid your body of toxins and waste, prevents and helps headaches, prevents cancer, helps you lose {and maintain} weight, and so many more benefits? Seriously, SO good for you!

Yvonne

This sounds awesome. I often drink lemon water, but I must make this soon!
I love the flavor of mint. This is a great way to drink more water. For awhile we were keeping a pitcher in our refrigerator. I need to do that again. Thanks for the reminder!
Yvonne
Having a pitcher on hand would be awesome, then you can just continue to refill as needed – thanks for the idea!

So refreshing! I’ve never been one to have trouble drinking enough water… in fact I drink too much, if that is possible. I spend half my life in the ladies room :)
Yvonne
You are so lucky that you don’t have trouble getting your water down! I wish I didn’t… :D
I always love added a little fresh flavor to my water! :) Usually I go with a simple cucumber water, but a love this minty version of your’s.
Yvonne
I am digging the cucumber water idea I’ve been hearing!
I’ve got some mint in the frig that is on it’s last legs. I’m going to make this today with it!
Yvonne
Oh this would be perfect for that mint – great way to use it up without letting it go to waste!
I love making a drink like this, especially after a workout. It’s just so refreshing. Now off to check out your healthy cherry limeade. Yum!
Yvonne

Yvonne, I love this post! I’ve been looking for low-cal options to sip on. It’s just so easy to pour a glass of wine in the evening but this is such a better option.
Yvonne
This is perfect for you Valerie when you are wanting to switch things up!
This looks so wonderfully refreshing Yvonne!
My husband would love this! I’m weird and don’t like anything in my water but he loves it! We are both trying to drink more water so I’m always on the lookout for ideas for his water!
Yvonne
I don’t think that’s weird that you don’t like anything in your water, but yes – this would be awesome for your husband!
this looks so refreshing! such a healthy easy idea!
Yvonne
I LOVE easy recipes!
What a great idea! I love the idea of lime flavored water.
Yvonne
Thanks so much Stephanie!
I love the mint and lime combo! This looks so refreshing!
Yvonne
Such a great combo & totally refreshing!
This is so perfect for me because I generally do NOT get enough water during the day. I don’t drink other bad for me things, I just don’t really drink anything. I think this is just the ticket to help me get back on track!
Yvonne
Well, on the bright side you don’t drink bad for you things.. but you should drink water – and this water would help you!!
Wow, this looks awesome!! I agree, it is so hard sometimes to drink that much water in the day and it not get boring. I love the water you get at the spa because they always have the mint and cucumber in it. This version looks delicious and refreshing! I’d love to give it a shot.
Yvonne
Ahh! cucumber is also really great in water – I’ll have to do that ‘recipe’ next!
I love your AKA for this, because maybe it might be enticing to some to drink the water. =0)
I drink water all the time, plain old water. But getting everyone else in our house to drink water is definitely a challenge. Thanks for the water recipe – er – the virgin no sugar added mojito! (I’m going to serve it to my sis-in-law with the aka name.)
Yvonne
Hahaha, pretty funny huh?! I love it!
This looks cool and refreshing!
Yvonne
Totally is Jillian, I love it!
Rachael
I can’t believe you made water look pretty! This sounds really awesome! I think I’m going to start doing it. Time to buy some mint.
Yvonne
Thanks Rachael, you are so kind! It is SO good – so helpful to get boring water down!
Certainly beats the PLAIN water I sometimes struggling to drink all day! I love this recipe to mix it up – looks so refreshing. Adding a whole lot of mint to my shopping list!
Yvonne
The struggle is REAL! Hee hee! Come summer time, we won’t have to buy any – our mint plant goes NUTS!
100 oz. in a day… whew that is ALOT! This recipe would be perfect to add into the mix to change up that boring water flavor, and love that is kinda like a mojito! Genius!
Yvonne
Isn’t that crazy?!? But when I do hit that goal I feel AMAZING! But to help get that, I need a little somethin’ somethin’.. and not sugar!
I know I need to increase my water intake, and then I get busy and totally forget! your pictures are SO gorgeous. today I’m going to drink my water!
Yvonne
I am the same way. It’s easier if I have a plan, instead of waiting until I’m thirsy.. which sometimes isn’t until towards the end of the day. Thank you for your kind words!
this looks so refreshing! It’s making me want to be by the pool sipping one of these… not in sweats in a cold rainy day ;o) The combination sounds amazing and I can’t wait to try this!
Yvonne
Oh man, that would be awesome to have by the pool!
Mmmm I love mint and lime! It’s such an awesome combination, and I even like it in my pop too! Gonna have to try your Virgin Mojito drink recipe! Thanks :)
Yvonne
Let me know what you think, it’s super easy and perfectly delicious!
I have always loved the taste of water, but I also like a nice flavored water as well! If I drank as much as you,I’d probably have to have a portable bathroom, too;) I’ve always stuck to the 8 glasses rule and I didn’t know it should be half of your body weight!
Yvonne
Oh man, I am always joking about needing to just make my office the bathroom! It would make life so much easier :D
When my husband and I get the opportunity to go to an all inclusive resort, I order unsweetened virgin moijtos all day long. Everyone thinks I am crazy, but they are insanely delicious!
Yvonne
I didn’t know you could order those?! That’s awesome! My husband and I went to an all-inclusive on our honeymoon, I would have loved to have known that! I don’t think you are crazy. Perfect for those of us that don’t drink alcohol!
Jan
Thanks for the encouragement
That looks utterly refreshing. My goal is a gallon of water a day, I am currently at about 96 oz. This might help get me over the top.
Holly @Spend With Pennies
Such a yummy and refreshing way to get in my water! Beautiful photos!
Yvonne
Thanks Holly – totally yummy AND refreshing!
Dear Yvonne, You have convinced me that you can indeed make anything look beautiful and elegant. I admit I should drink more water. I do occasionally add lemon juice when I remember, but the mint is a nice touch. This would be perfect for the summer months especially…so cool and refreshing! Pinning xo, Catherine
Yvonne
Catherine you are the absolute sweetest, seriously! I love when you come to my site and visit! I struggle with my water too, so you aren’t alone! The mint is an extra nice touch – give it a try! Thanks for pinning!
