I recently bought maraschino syrup when I was making my Raspberry Swirl Fondue. Kirsch is almost always called for in cheese fondue recipes, and I like to use cherry syrup instead. It wasn’t until I came home from the grocery store that I realized that of all times, it wasn’t asked for in the Raspberry Swirl recipe. Go figure. As I was thinking ‘what in the world am I going to do with a bottle of cherry syrup’, it hit me. I’ve always been a huge fan of cherry limeade and with recently posting my Lemonade Cleanse recipe I was inspired. Made a few tweaks and this Healthy Cherry Limeade was born.
Not that I’m a huge soda drinker necessarily, but over the last five months I haven’t had one single drop. I was participating in a health challenge that prohibited the consumption of any type of soda beverage. Since I’ve gotten used to drinking water and the Lemonade Cleanse it’s rare that I venture much further away from that. Having discovered a cherry limeade that isn’t sugar-laden or pumped full of soda has got me stoked! Another delicious drink to add to the rotation that I don’t have to feel guilty about drinking! In the summer, when cherries are in full swing I’ll substitute the maraschino syrup for fresh cherry juice!
Healthy Cherry Limeade
Thhis Healthy Cherry Limeade is a delicious variation of my Lemonade Cleanse that will satisfy your typical sugar-laden Cherry Limeade craving!
Ingredients
- 2 small limes
- 1 tbsp. organic tart cherry juice concentrate
- 1/4 tsp. Stevia powder
- 7-10 drops liquid cayenne
- 32 oz. water
Instructions
-
Squeeze juice from your limes into quart jar. Add remaining ingredients. Mix together. Enjoy!
Recipe Notes
You can also use liquid stevia. We like the NOW Better Stevia Original Liquid Extract which you can order on Amazon, or at your local health food store. If using, you'll need approx. 7 drops (instead of the 1/4 tsp. powder).
Plus, isn’t is just the most gorgeous drink? I think so!

Hi, Yvonne…..new to your site, thks….what is liquid cayenne?
Yvonne
Hello and welcome! The best place to get liquid cayenne is online fo rhte best price. You can find the product we use here: http://www.swansonvitamins.com/dr-christophers-cayenne-extract-hot-1-fl-oz-liquid. You can also find this at your local health food store. We find it works better in drinks than powdered cayenne.

Thanks for all of your delicious recipes! We have made several of them and they have all been a big hit at our house! All we drink out of are mason jars with glass straws – love love them! Where did you find your cute lids/toppers for your jars? I would love some! Thanks
Yvonne
Oh Nicole! You just made my night!! I’m so happy you enjoy the recipes! We are HUGE mason jar fans in our house – woot woo! I got them from the Mason Bar Company online. Love their shop! You should follow then on IG, they are always posting about their newest products! Enjoy!

Where did you get the jar glasses?
Yvonne
These are just regular mason jars. You typically find them later in the summer when it’s canning season but I’ve found them all over. Walmart, Target, and grocery stores even. We keep a bunch of them on hand and usually they are the only thing we drink out of!
This looks wonderful! Can’t wait to try it! Make sure you come link up at my Tasty Tuesday party where every recipe gets pinned!

Yvonne
I know – aren’t those jars totally FAB?!? I love them too! Yes! The new site has been up for a few weeks and I LOVE it! Glad you do too :)

Hello, can the liquid cayenne be left out? I have Crohn’s and my stomach can not handle spices like cayenne.
I had to check this out… HEALTHY and cherry limeade aren’t a combination I thought I’d ever see. Dax is a big cherry limeade drinker during the summer and I love having a healthier option. Pinning this one for later!
Yvonne
Yay! It’s so yummy! Glad you pinned it, you’ll def want to try this one!

Can you use raw sugar or honey instead of stevia? If so, how much?
Yvonne
I’m sure either would work fine – since I haven’t tried either of them, you’d have to play around with the measurements until you get your desired sweetness. I’m sure it will be just as yummy!
I can’t wait to try this!
