We are in the full swing of summer. What have you started grilling? Things have been so hectic I haven’t had the chance to fire up the grill as much as I would have liked to by this point. Besides this Cowboy Burger, the only other time was for my Bruschetta Turkey Burger. As my dear Grandmother used to say, ‘that’s a crying shame’. Ha. Loved that phrase of hers. But seriously, it’s July and I’ve only grilled up a couple of things? Something has got to change. Quickly.
I digress. Back to this delicious burger. A little while ago I went in to Whole Foods to pick up a few things. I don’t know if you’ve got one near you, but my closest location is nearly 45 minutes away. Super sad considering how much I enjoy the store. Is it expensive? Yes. Do they offer great quality products? Yes! So while I don’t make many trips, I do occasionally like to splurge and make a trip down. As I was perusing the meat counter trying to decide what I wanted a few of their pre-made burgers stood out to me. This Cowboy Burger being one of them. The easiest thing to do would have been to buy the pre-made patty right? I decided I wanted to make them myself! The result was delicious!

Thanks! (And note that the Whole Foods cowboy has bacon mixed in, in case one wants an even closer replica.)

Is the bacon pre-cooked or raw before adding it to the mix?

I love them! I think though that next time I will double the ground beef so I can make larger patties and have a few more.

I know exactly how you fell about not having enough time to grill. But summer time really does scream grilling, so I was SOOOO happy when I got to grill yesterday. Sadly, we did have to hurry back inside due to the rain. But I will definitely have to fire up the grill again this weekend so I can make these burgers. I love the fact that they’re mini. Portion control is KEY! LOVE these! :)

I too love that they are mini – so happy you’re going to make these, let me know what you think!
