Often times when people think ‘green smoothie’ they think: ew! yuck! no way! OK, maybe they don’t really think that, but I think the perception of the green smoothie is that it isn’t tasty. That couldn’t be any further from the truth. Honestly, it can be quite delicious! Green smoothies are an excellent way to get in your greens, start your morning {or pre-workout/post workout} on the right foot! The other great thing about them? Completely customizable! Make it how you want to, add what you love, leave what you don’t. Start super basic like this recipe and then work your way up from there!
The Beginner's Green Smoothie
Ever wanted to make a green smoothie but just couldn't muster up the courage? This The Beginner's Green Smoothie is perfect, with just a touch of greens you'll get nutrition without shocking your taste buds too much!
Ingredients
- 1/2 frozen banana
- 1/3 c. plain Greek yogurt
- Large handful spinach
- 1/2 c. coconut milk or milk of choice
- 1 c. ice
Instructions

Add all ingredients to your blender. Blend & enjoy!

I’m totally stuck in the beginner green smoothie phase. More fruit to greens. I do like the idea of coconut milk in it!

I’m one of those people who is like ewww gross. And only because the first green drink I ever had was a Kale smoothie juice that I picked up at the store. Now I had enjoyed many smoothie drinks from the same brand so I thought the kale one would be great. I was wrong. One of the worse things I ever tasted. I think I had nightmares about it. ;)
So I’m looking at your green smoothie and I think I can finally say that I will give them a go again. Yours looks so good and refreshing!
