The BBQ basics series continues with this Ultimate Cobb Salad. You can’t have salad without salad dressing, so today you’ll find me over on the Blendtec blog with the recipe for my Homemade Ranch Dressing. I’ve been wanting to add a Cobb salad recipe to the site for a while now and I’m so happy that I finally did. It’s SO easy and super delicious. I’m a huge salad fan and always used to love going to Sizzler and Golden Corral when I was younger. Where would I go first? The salad bar! I don’t venture to buffets much anymore (unless I’m on a cruise, and then I do visit the Windjammer quite frequently) and always will I create a salad before anything else.
Assembling your own salad with lots of bright colorful veggies is not only appealing to the eye, but also appealing to the belly too. I could hardly pull this together without wanting to gobble it all up before it was assembled. While I normal use my Oven Baked Hard Boiled Eggs method, for these I didn’t have quite as much time. So I called up my mom and got her fool proof method: in a small pot bring your eggs and water to a boil. Boil for five minutes. Remove from heat and cover for 10 minutes. Immediately transfer to ice cold water. Voila! A perfectly boiled egg in 15 minutes! Man, I love calling up my mom for her trusty tips and instructions. Works every time!
