It’s the last day of the year and I can hardly believe 2014 is coming to a close. I must say it has been a pretty fantastic year and there were so many delicious recipes. I was pleasantly surprised to find which recipes came in as the top ten most viewed that were posted this year. If I had to pick favorites from all of my recipes, a good chunk made it in to this list. I suppose that means we have similar taste! Without further adieu shall we take a look at what you were most interested in?
#10. Hard boiled eggs eh? I must say that when I learned that you could hard boil an egg in the oven my mind was BLOWN. By far my most favorite way to get the job done AND get large quantities done all at the same time. Boom.
#9. I debuted this recipe in my second appearance on 2News This Morning. The beginning of 2014 was about a change. I decided early on in the year that I wanted to bring more healthy recipes to Tried and Tasty and this was a great way to kick that off. Evidently this delicious recipe resonated with a few of you too!
#8. Gotta love a good cupcake recipe. There are a handful of recipes that I call THE best. This Vanilla Cupcake Recipe? Literally THE BEST. This year was a mix of healthy and sweet. I tried to provide a balance of all things that I love.
#7. This was the year of cleansing for me and this lemonade became a staple in our house. We have this lemonade on an almost daily basis, and although there are excellent cleanse benefits I mostly drink it because I think it’s so dang TASTY! Not only that, it’s a fantastic way to get your water intake if you aren’t a water drinker normally. If you’re interested in the cleanse I did, you can find all the details: here.
#6. Talk about quick, easy, AND delicious!!! This Healthy Cashew Chicken Salad is off the hee-zee. If you aren’t familiar with that term, just trust in the awesomeness of this recipe. Ditch the traditional croissant and use lettuce as a wrap instead for a completely guilt free meal!
#5. Several times the hubs created something pretty fabulous in the kitchen. This Slow Cooker Vegetarian Chili was one of those times. A surprising phenomenon. I can’t even tell you how many times we’ve made this. For ourselves. For friends. For family. EVERYONE loves it. Evidently you do too!
#4. In an attempt to ditch the white flour in 2014 I focused my efforts on delicious recipes using whole wheat. I was pleasantly surprised with just how easy it was to transition. I was also surprised with how killer awesome these pancakes were. All sorts of yummy goodness and HEALTHY! The perfect way to start your day. If you haven’t made these yet, I highly suggest you get on that.
#3. One of my fondest memories in the kitchen this year was making these beans (and the coleslaw at #2). My parents moved out of state early this summer and just before they moved they stayed with us for a week. That week my mom and I spent a good deal of time cooking together. Together she and I made these baked beans and I will hands down tell you they are the best baked beans I’ve ever had. Ever.
#2. Quick & Easy is the way to go and this coleslaw does not disappoint. Just seeing this recipe makes me long for hot weather, BBQ’s, burgers, short sleeves, and sandals. Don’t you just feel that when you see this coleslaw too? Summer is my favorite season and I’m so happy that many of my favorite summer recipes were your favorite too!
#1. Coming it at number ONE is another recipe I made on 2News This Morning early this year. These Chicken, Spinach & Cream Cheese Tortilla Wraps deserve every bit of being my #1 most viewed recipe of the year. Using ‘cheater’ rotisserie chicken, this has got to be one of my easiest recipes to date. You have to grab the ingredients for these on your next grocery shopping trip. You will fall in love at first bite!
Pretty great year right? Looking forward to bringing you more delicious recipes in 2015. Excited to see what you fall in love with next year!
