Can you believe with all of that cheesiness that is only one slice of cheese? Yep! The sourdough slices are short and so it looks like a lot oozing all over. I’m a cheese lover, so when I pulled that out of the oven I was in heaven. I’ve mentioned it a couple of times but I love breakfast. I could eat it morning, noon, or night. If you follow me on Pinterest you probably know that I’ve got a board called ‘Breakfast Is My Favorite Meal‘. I’ve also got another board with healthy breakfast options called ‘Healthy Way To Start Your Day‘. If you aren’t following me on Pinterest, you should – I pin good stuff!
I pinned this Ham & Egg Broiled Cheese some time ago and have been itching to make it ever since. I’m so happy I finally got around to it. This was a fantastic choice to help keep me full all the way until lunch time. All my favorites wrapped in one: egg, deli turkey meat, cheese, and bread. Yum! Best part about it? It was ready in about 15 minutes. Can’t beat that right? I made two at once. One for today and one for tomorrow.
Ingredients
- 1 eggs beaten
- 2 slices deli ham or turkey meat
- 2 slices bread of choice I used sourdough
- 1 slices cheese I used one slice monterey jack
Instructions
-
Preheat your broiler to the highest setting.
-
In the meantime, in a nonstick pan over medium heat, cook your egg as if you are making an omelet. Add the slice of ham or turkey and fold the egg over.
-
Place the bread on a baking sheet and top with the cooked egg and cheese. Place under the broiler for about 5 minutes, or until the cheese is brown and bubbly, and the edges of the bread are toasted. Top with another slice of toasted bread. Enjoy!
