I did it! I finally did it! I broke into the world of layered smoothies. I’ve been seeing them everywhere lately and I wanted to jump in while the gettin’ is hot. I must say, photographing this puppies is no easy task.. they melt together QUICKLY! This shoot was a workout. One blender jar going here, another blender jar going there.. it was madness I tell you! The end result? Absolutely stunning and equally delicious. I mean look at that. Tell me you don’t want a sip ‘o dat right now?? I wouldn’t mind one. It was fun to put the two together. Basically I blended up my Pineapple Banana Breakfast Smoothie and my Three-Ingredient Pineapple Green Smoothie and then layered them up. Voila!
It’s not secret I’ve been loving the smoothies lately. They are SO delicious and so fun to create. You can do just about anything and the possibilities are nearly endless. Have you been smoothie-ing it up like I have? It’s almost the end of January.. are you still sticking with your resolutions? Stay with me, together we’ve got this! I will say that the 30-Day Green Smoothie Challenge went out the window about a week ago. Whoops. You get out of the habit a couple of days and next thing you know a week has past and you haven’t thought twice about it. The hubs did juice however so that was something. I had a hard time jumping on board with that as memories of our 30 Day Juice Fast came flooding back to me and I’ll be honest, I’m not quite ready to embrace the juice again. Eventually. But not today.

Do you think I could replace the pineapple with another fruit like apple or banana?
Whats power greens and how does it taste? You use 2 cups of this mix for each layer? So 4 cups total?
Yvonne
Power greens are a mix of spinach, chard and kale. The specific brand we use we get from Costco and it’s made by Taylor Farms. Only 2 cups for the green layer, it won’t bee in the banana layer. Hope that helps!
