Serves a crowd & leaves guests wanting more! | Tried and TastyYesterday I had the opportunity to demo at the IKEA BYOF Event! I was excited to be able to do it last year for the 3rd Annual IKEA BYOF Event where I made my Candy Bar Caramel Apple Salad. This year when asked if I wanted to participate I couldn’t hardly jump on the chance fast enough. It was one of my top three favorite events of last year, I had so much fun! I’m sure you are wondering what exactly the BYOF event is. BYOF {Bring Your Own Friend} is a day that’s all about bringing people together. They are celebrating friendship at IKEA stores around the country with a day of special perks and rewards for you and your friends.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. fresh strawberries
  • 3 1/4 c. whipping cream
  • 1/3 c. powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 24-28 whole graham crackers
  • 1/4 c. IKEA CHOKLADKROKANT BREDBAR Chocolate Spread more or less to taste (can also substitute with a Nutella type spread or something similar)
  • 1/4 c. IKEA SYLT JORDGUBB Strawberry Jam more or less to taste
  • 1 IKEA Milk Chocolate Hazelnut Bars

Instructions

  1. Hull strawberries and cut each into thin slices.

  2. With a hand mixer or in the bowl of a stand mixer, whip heavy whipping cream just until it holds stiff peaks. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla; whip to combine.

  3. Divide into two medium-sized bowls.  In one bowl whisk in chocolate spread. In the other bowl whisk in strawberry jam.

  4. Spread a small spoonful of strawberry whipped cream on the bottom of a 9 x 13-inch baking pan. Lay down graham crackers to cover, you may need to break some in half for the smaller sides.

  5. Lightly cover the top of the graham crackers with chocolate whipped cream, and then a single layer of strawberries. Repeat three times, until you have four layers of graham crackers.

  6. Spread the last of the whipped cream over the top and swirl it lightly with a spoon. Top with final layer of strawberries.

  7. Refrigerate for at least four hours, or until the crackers have softened completely. Garnish with chocolate curls, using a vegetable peeler to 'peel' the short side of the candy bar.

Yes!! Heather that’s a brilliant idea! Easter will be here before we know it. Never been to IKEA? I was just thinking on Saturday how it’s an hour from me – which is far, but then when I think about those that don’t even have one in the same state – I sure am lucky! Hopefully you can get yourself to one sometime!
