My family loves ribs. I mean really loves ribs. My little brother is the grill master of the family followed closely by my dad, sister, and mother. I haven’t had too much hand to hand combat myself other than the occasional hot dog or hamburger. I’ve been wanting some ribs, but Steve and I don’t have a grill and I wasn’t sure if they’d be as good if we didn’t grill them. Then I decided to try them in the crock pot. Bingo! If you don’t have a grill, use the crock pot – they turned out awesome, and we’ve already made them a couple of times!
1 rack of ribs
1-2 tbsp. mustard (I used prepared, you could also used dry – just start with half and taste test)
1/2 tbsp. salt
1 tbsp. garlic salt
1 tbsp. seasoned salt
1-1 1/2 c. your favorite bbq sauce
Season ribs with mustard, salt, garlic salt, and seasoned salt. Cook ribs in crock pot on high 4-6 hours. Add bbq sauce cook an additional 1-2 hours.

I love this idea!
I am making my grocery list for next week and this is going down for Sunday dinner. But question did you find your crockpot was really tricky to clean out after you made this, or was it just like any other meal in the crockpot. A little soap and water soak time, sorry lame question probably. I am just curious…..
Oh man, Jenny – this will become a staple, it’s so good and super easy. You know what, I absolutely hate cleaning out my crock pot – so if you notice, I actually use a bag. The bag is made by Reynolds, they are Slow Cooker Liners and they are pretty much amazing! The tag line on the box says “For fast, easy cleanup with no soaking or scrubbing!” You can find them in the aisle with sandwhich baggies and aluminum foil and stuff! I use them almost always now!
I can’t wait to make these. I am making them for my honey on Valentines Day. (yellow mustard?)
I’ve used yellow mustard and also dijon – both worked great. The flavor isn’t dominating, it just helps give a little boost to the bbq sauce!
So I am making these today (Valentines dinner didn’t happen here) anyways, my house smells sooooo good. They have been in the crock pot since about 10:30 and my house smells divine. Also – stupid me – I WAS going to use the crock pot liners and totally forgot. I even had them in my drawer. But I can’t wait to try these yummy ribs.
They fell off the bone with about 2 hours left of cooking time. (my crock pot cooks really fast – now I know I just need to do 6 hours total, not 8) Anyways – they were fabulous. SOOOOOO YUMMY!
that was 8 hours
I made these tonight for dinner and it was absolutely delicious! Thank you for sharing this recipe!
Oooooooooooooo, my tummy is growling now! I add a handful of finely chopped onion too.

This was absolutely delicious.
I used kosher salt and table salt since I didn’t have seasoned salt. Also substituted garlic powder for the garlic salt and instead of putting the bbq sauce towards the end I just mixed all the ingredients together, coated the ribs in the sauce, dumped everything in the crock pot and cooked it for 6 hours. My husband raved about it and I have to say it’s a keeper.
