These are one of my FAVORITE Christmas bars! They are just what the name calls them: RICH!!! I only make them once a year, and look forward to them every time I do.
Rich Chocolate Toffee Bars
The shortbread bottom makes these Rich Chocolate Toffee Bars one of the tastiest bars around! Make them for your next special occasion, you'll be the star of the party.

- 2/3 c. packed light brown sugar
- 3/4 c. butter or margarine cold
- 1 egg slightly beaten

Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 350. Grease 9x13 in. baking pan.

-
Pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over hot crust. Top with 1 1/2 c. toffee bits. Sprinkle reserved crumb mixture and remaining 1/2 c. chips over top. Bake 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
-
Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 c. toffee bits. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Cut into bars.
Recipe Notes
[My 2 Cents]
What I've found is it's best to make the bars one day and then cut them the next. That way you assure that they are completely cooled and also they are much easier to cut once they've set for a while.

Thank you Yvonne! I’ve been doing all that in the kitchen for over 50 years. I’m “in the zone” while in my kitchen, even more so this time of the year. Always looking for new recipes and this one I can’t wait to try.
